Heatsink adhesive 6g Tube

Small Tube Of Thermally Conductive Adhesive

  • For attaching heatsinks to chips
  • 5 gram tube - more than enough for several chips
  • Instructions supplied

Heatsink for DIL Chips (24 Pin)

Heatsink for 24 Pin DIL Chips

Ideal for the SID and PLA in the Commodore 64 which run hot are usually the first to fail.

Dimensions: 33mm x 19mm x 4.8mm

Attachment methods: The heatsink is not self-adhesive - it requires either a thermal adhesive pad or thermally conductive glue which I sell separately - please see my listings nearby.

Price: £ 1.00   Add to cart: (15 in stock)
Heatsink for DIL Chips (40 Pin)

Heatsink for 40 Pin DIL ICs

Heatsink suitable for 40 PIN Chips such as the CPU in the Commodore 64 and ULA in Spectrum Plus. (Note: There is not enough room for it in the rubber-keyed Spectrum unless you desolder the ULA's IC socket and fit the ULA directly onto the motherboard.) Can also be used on the shorter SID and PLA chips if you dont mind the heatsink overhanging (it could be cut down of course).

Dimensions: 51mm x 19mm x 4.8mm

Attachment methods: The heatsink is not self-adhesive - it requires either a thermal adhesive pad or thermally conductive glue which I sell separately - please see my listings nearby.

Heatsink Kit 1 for Commodore 64

Heatsink kit 1 for "breadbin" Commodore 64

Consists of:

  • 1 x 40 pin DIL heatsinks (for 6510 CPU)
  • 2 x 24 pin DIL heatsinks (for PLA and SID)
  • Tube of thermally conductive adhesive
  • A sachet of thermal grease to renew that on VIC-II chip if desired.

Instructions:  The chips that run the hottest in the C64 are the SID (6581), PLA (906114-01 / 82S100 etc), CPU 6510 and VIC-II (6569) and these are always the first to fail. Simply attaching heatsinks will help dissipate the heat they generate and increase their lifespan. The VIC-II Chip is usually already adequately heatsinked by the top of the shielding box that surrounds it on the earlier breadbin C64s. (A small sachet of thermal grease is included should you wish to open the shield box and renew the thermal compound originally used.) If you require an additional heatsink for the VIC-II chip of later versions of the C64 board, please see C64 Heatsink Kit 2 below.

Heatsink Kit 1b for Commodore 64

Heatsink kit 1b for "breadbin" Commodore 64

Consists of:

  • 1 x 40 pin DIL heatsinks (for 6510 CPU)
  • 2 x 24 pin DIL heatsinks (for PLA and SID)
  • 3 Thermally conductive adhesive pads for the above (3M Brand)
  • A sachet of thermal grease to renew that on VIC-II chip if desired.

As above, but supplied with thermal pads instead of tube of thermal adhesive.

Heatsink Kit 2 for Commodore 64

Heatsink kit 2 for "breadbin" Commodore 64

Consists of:

  • 2 x 40 pin DIL heatsinks (for 6510 CPU and VIC-II)
  • 2 x 24 pin DIL heatsinks (for PLA and SID)
  • Tube of thermally conductive adhesive

Instructions: The chips that run the hottest in the C64 are the SID (6581), PLA (906114-01 / 82S100 etc), the CPU (6510) and the VIC-II (6569) - these are always the first to fail. By simply attaching heatsinks the heat they generate will be better dissipated which will maximize their lifespan. This version of the kit includes a heatsink for the VIC-II Chip (6569). In early C64s the VIC-II was adequately heatsinked by the top of the shielding box that surrounds it but on later versions there was little or no heatsinking on this chip. (If you require a kit without this extra 40-pin heatsink please see C64 Heatsink Kit 1)

  • 2 x 24 pin DIL heatsinks (for PLA and SID)
  • 4 x Thermally conductive adhesive pads for the above (3M brand)

As above, but supplied with thermal pads instead of a tube of adhesive.
